Question: How long should you do ballet before going en Pointe!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
3-5 years of solid ballet training is usually needed, but sometimes there are exceptions!. Strengthen your ankle a lot (releves, eleves, tendus) and you will go en pointe much quicker!.

Have a nice day!!

This really depends on the individual!. You need to have basic ballet skills obviously!.!. strength in your ankles/core!.!. there are various things needed before starting pointe!. I only did one year of ballet before I started pointe but I had done jazz, lyrical, gymnastics etc!. before hand!. So it really depends on a few things :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

It highly depends!. I had to wait until I was 12 because you have to have the bones in your feet fairly developed and at my ballet studio the minimum age for pointe is 12 and you must be in an advanced enough level for even pre-pointe!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
