Question: When I dance in class I become too reliant on the teacher and don't trust myself with the choreo!.!.how do i!.!.!?
I take Hip-hop right now, but if I don't look at somebody else for the moves I'm totally lost, and I become dependent on somebody else for the choreo!. So while I'm dancing I'll constantly be looking at somebody else for the moves!.!. does that make sense!?

How do I learn not to look at other people for the choreography and how do I stop myself from becoming dependent on them!?

And I always feel really awkward when I dance and I'm so concentrated on the moves that I don't know what I look like!.!. which makes me look at somebody else even more for the moves T^T

Please and Thank you!.

Start dancing on your own where you know no one is watching and there is no one around to watch!. Turn on some music and just let loose!. You will find your creativity, skill, and confidence expanding, and you will become less reliant on others for your next move!. Before you know it, you'll stop being a mirror and start being a dancer!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, first practice it outside of practice so you can get the moves in your head and practice alone so you wont be looking at anyone!. If you need someone outside of practice because you cant remember the moves then have someone for the first time and then start on your own then when your at dance look in front of you in the mirror if your dance studio has mirror walls or you could just kinda stare blankly and picture the routine in your mind while you do it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey!!!!
Ive been dancing for 11 years now and i did that when i was little!.
All you need to do is practise practise practise and just remember that you are just as good as everyone!.!.

When in class just imagine that youre the only one in the room and just go with it!. Put all of your energy into it and be CONFIDENT about yourself!.
As for how you look, it doesnt matter, put a smile on your face and look happy and youll look great!. If you have a great time so will the audience!.

Hope i Could help you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey there!

When I first started dancing, I was like that too! I can bet you that most people were like that once!. What you really need is self-confidence and practice, practice, practice!. If you're afraid of people looking at you, you can look at the mirror and practise dancing on your own at home before you go for your dance class!. Do it till you know it's right and no matter what, never stop trying! When your instructor gives you guys a break, take that break to practise or correct your moves, if you can!. Don't be shy to ask the better dancers for help too as they can coach you!.

One more thing - when your instuctor teaches the moves, you can dance along with him/her to carry out that move!. also, see how similar your dancing looks with the instructor and always remember the little pointers that they give you!. If your moves don't look similar, just keep trying!. Keep doing it till you get it right!. Instructors feel heartened when they see dancers who try very hard to dance better (even if they're not good) instead of those who can't and don't even want to try!. Don't be afraid of others judging you, just be confident!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
