Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
1!. The fitter asked me if I had teachers approval which I did!.
2!. She explained to me about all the different brands of pointe shoes, how long they generally last, which makes are good for begginners etc!.
3!. She asked me for my street shoe size to get a basic idea of sizes
4!. She gave me several different types of padding and ouch pouches to try and I chose the one I felt most comfortable with!.
5!. She stood me at the barre barefoot and made me rise onto demi pointe to see my alignment and make sure my feet were strong enough for pointe!.
6!. She chose a shoe for me, I tried it on and then did some rises at barre!.
7!. I tried on about 3 more pairs before she decided which were good for me!.
8!. She explained to me how to take care of them, sew on the ribbons etc!.

She was very professional :)
Don't worry about it!. It's fun and exciting and you will probably remember it forever!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No you don't have to bring your parents, my mom was actually no use to me, as she doesn't know much about this stuff!. You don't have to tip them, but if you want to, I guess you can!.

1) They'll ask you your size street shoes!. Ballet/pointe shoes are usually a few sizes smaller than your actual size (I wear a 7 1/2, and I got a 4 1/2)!.
2) They may ask what type of foot you have (if it's super flexible, etc!.)
3) They'll bring out a bunch of brands based on what you told them!.
4) After 30 min to an hour, you'll have your shoes!

So first, they ask you how old you are and who approved for you to go on poine!. They then ask you what your regular shoe size is(because pointe shoe sizing is different to regular street shoes)!. After, they measure your foot to see how wide it is and they ask you to point your feet to see the type of shoe that would fit you best!. Depending on your foot type, they come out with at least 2 pairs of shoes and ask you to try it on, When you try it on, you have to tell them which one is most comfotable and they can narrow it down t o the best shoe!. Lastly, they ask you to roll on pointe to re approve that you are ready for pointe!.

Well good luck with your fitting!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well at my pointe shoe fitting the people from a local dance store came with almost their entire stock of pointe shoes!. They called us up in groups and asked for our street shoe size then picked a shoes they thought would be good a size!. After we had the shoes on hey had us stand on pointe, do some plies and stuff like that!. Once they determined a good shoe for you they gave toe pads and you paid for them there!. By the way if you ever buy pointe shoes yourself make sure they are pretty snug on your feet!. If they are too big they'll slide around on your feet and cause blisters!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
