Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
A dance manager typically handles administrative duties!. In larger companies, they would focus more on handling the logistics of the company's performances: venue contracts, ticket prices, technical stage specifications, etc!. If a company goes on tours, the manager seeks out the bookings, arranges travel accommodations for the cast and equipment, etc!.

They are NOT the artistic director or choreographer!. No matter how small a company many be, there is always someone actually named the "Artistic Director," who may or may not have the dual title of "Choreographer!." In very tiny companies, the Artistic Director might have to be a Jack-of-all-Trades by also being their own dance manager, but then they wouldn't call themselves that!. If someone has the role of being a dance manager, then the company is big enough to delegate the nuts-and-bolts duties to that person, which are separate from the artistic duties!.

The pay can range from virtually nothing (a token payment out of the net profits from performances) to six-figure incomes for something like the Rockettes!. However, median pay would be about $30K!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
