Question: Pointe at 10 or 11!?!? I really wanna do it but my ankles!.!.!.!?
Okay, I want to do pointe soo bad!!!! But I have ligament problems with my ankles!. Its called ligamentus laxity, and they are super flexible and bendable! My mom says its up to my teacher and after more ballet!. Im a lyrical dancer!. I do ballet but I am not as good as I am at lyrical and jazz!. My dance studio doesnt give pointe classes until age 13!. Im 10!. I CANNOT wait that long!! My jazz & tap teacher says once I have stronger ankles and feet and maybe another year of ballet!. I can last a year :-) Its just my mom says I need to take a pointe class!. Can't wait 3 years!. I COULD take pointe classes at another dance studio, or I could get pointe shoes and just practice basic stuff like tondues and just standing on my toes!. But, my mom says NO!. PLease give us some ideas!! I WANNA STAND ON MY TOESIES!!!!! :-D Www@QuestionHome@Com

OMG i want to go on point so bad i am 12 and at my dance studio you have to take a test "fisical and writing test" and you have to Ac it if you want to go on point and you can take the test at 13 and i want to go on point so bad i LOVE dance so iw ould say just work on your strength in your feet that is what will get you on point and if i could go on point right at this moment i proble wouldnt becase my feet are proble not strong enuf yet so i would just work on strength good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

dont do it!. i know the feeling to want to be on pointe but seriously it will ruin your feet if you do it at your age!. your body is not done growing and figuring itself out!. you will get hurt!.!.!. maybe so badly that you wont be able to dance!. i know this isnt what you want to hear but please listen

instead, work to strengthening your ankles so in three years (dont worry you'll be 13 soon) you will be amazing!!!! instead of hurting yourself you can make your body stronger for the futureWww@QuestionHome@Com

I really don't think you should start point that early!. It will affect you later!.!.!.!. if you already have problems, you will only get worse!. Trust me!.!.!.!. I am a dancer!. If you aren't strong enough, then you just aren't!. You should wait at least a year!. If not, make sure you do stretches for you ankles to strengthen them!. I think doing a bunch of releves on one foot at a time really helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

my mom bought me pointe shoes just for me to stand on, but since your mom wont let you, heres what you do!.!.!. BUY THE POINTE SHOES WITH YOUR OWN MONEY!!!! that way, she cant take them away from you because they are yours!!

to strengthen your ankles, stand one foot (but do it with both legs) for 30 seconds!. i heard it makes your ankles stronger!. do that for a month or so, and see how you feel

good luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your dance studio probably doesn't offer those classes for a reason!. Your ankles are still developing so just wait!. If you mess up your ankles by going onto pointe to early, you may never be able to get back up!. Listen to your teacher's and mother's advice!. And don't go behind their back because you can really hurt yourself!. Please be safe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay first do not buy pointe shoes without your teacher telling you too, you can really hurt yourself, and then there's a possibility that you wont ever be able to do pointe!. I know how you feel wanting to just take pointe, but all dancers have to wait!. 10 is a little young, your bones and things are still developing!. i think your studio is smart to wait till 13!. If you go en pointe to early you can permanently damage your bones and ankles and it could affect you the rest of your life!. also there aren'tt that many studios that will let you take pointe at 10, because its such a strain on your ankles and tendons!. Your teachers are just looking out for your safety by having you wait til you get older!. So for now just practicing making your ankles stronger and focus on ballet!. Good Luckk!! ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

My studio requires our ballet teacher to come with us when buying pointe shoes, to ensure we get the right fit etc!. And most dance shops won't even sell you pointe shoes without making sure you have your teachers approval so be wary of that!. It is NOT a good idea to buy pointe shoes to use at home even if you are just doing basic things such as tendus!. Pointe can be very dangerous if not done properly!. I know waiting a year seems IMPOSSIBLE but it is for your benefit!. Your teacher knows best!. If I were you I would definately just stick it out another year, because it is well worth it!. You need to be taking pointe classes or there is not really much point having pointe shoes, so maybe look into pointe classes at another studio!? Or maybe talk to your teacher about it, if she feels your ready for pointe shoes in a year maybe she will make an exception and let you in pointe class even though you are a little bit younger!. GOOD LUCK :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

A lot of girls can't wait to go on pointe, but trust me, it is worth the wait!. for one thing, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go out and buy some on your own! This is a great way to injure yourself!. I applaud your dance studio for not offering classes until age 13!. you do not NEED to take a pointe class!.!.!. what you need to do is wait until you are strong enough!. i've seen plenty of girls go on pointe too early!.!.!. and guess what!. those first few months they are on are not worth the injuries!. and they ended up injured and not able to dance for a few months, and then can't go on pointe because it still hurts!. waiting is well worth it!. i was 14 when i went on, mainly because i started ballet late!. my ankels were strong when i first started, but i had to wait until my technique caught up!. and now i have passed girls level wise who started when they were 10 at other studios!. so please just listen to your teachers!. pointe is a privilage and is wonderful!.!.!. don't ruin it by trying to go on to early!.
