The cost would depend on a lot of things!. For example, a decent dress alone is anywhere between $200 - $3000!. Plus, entry fees for comps, petrol and accommodation(depending on where you live there could be a lot of travelling involved), how many lessons you take a week(probably at least 3 or 4 a week if you were competing), how much the lessons cost, how many comps you went to in a year, etc!. It's an expensive sport!. You'd be looking at at least $2000 - $3000 a year minimum, and it would most probably be more than that!. But, if it's something you really want to do, go for it!. Don't let anything discourage you(especially not the cost), because there's always a way to do what you want to do!. Good luck! Www@QuestionHome@Com

I highly suggest getting a partner that would compete with you instead of your professional teacher!. I did a competition in June and it cost me about $7000 (without my dress and hotel stay!.) It was a local competition in Arizona, so I'm not sure how much it would cost in New Zealand!. I'm sure it will still be expensive but you have to be smart about it all!. Be sure to get a partner!. It will cut your cost in half because you aren't paying for the professional to dance with you!. also, bargain hunt for your dresses!. Maybe you find a dress that someone no longer wants and they have had it for a few years, it would cost you less than buying a new dress!. You may also want to look into renting dresses!. Rhythmicrentals!.com has a huge selection! If it's something you really love you should try a competition at least once! Happy dancing :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
