Question: I want to be flexible!? steps to getting flexible!?
I was in dance my whole life until 4th or 5th grade, and then I quit and started again in 6th grade and quit!. Now I am in 9th grade and when I see our dance team preform I remember what it was like and really want to join!. It is to late for this year, but I want to prep for possibly trying out and starting 'just for kix' dance next year!.

Basically how can I become flexible, like doing splits!.!?!.!? thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

to become more flexible you must stretch! You need to do all the stretches you remember from dance class!. Get you a pilates video from the library!. Pilates offers great stretches!. To get your splits you have to do it EVERY day!. Do it while you watch tv or are on the phone!. Before you do your splits go soak in a hot tub for 15 minutes!. Than immediately do your splits!. Right leg, left leg and straddle!. Lay on your back with both legs straight and toes pointed!. Lift one leg and pull it with your hands all the way to your chest if you can!. If you cant keep trying! Eventually you will get it!. Again I reccomend pilates because along with the flexability you are going need strength and the pilates will build up your core muscles!. I admire you for wanting to go back and to be in good shape when you do!. Just remember you need to stretch every day! Good Luck! Have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

to become flexible you need to start stretching, try bending over with your legs still straight and touching your toes, if you can do this this is a good start, if you cannot bend until it hurts and stay there for a couple of minutes then come up and do it again repeat this process morning and night, for splits try doing the splits and when you reach your limit, try to go a little further and then stay there for two minutes, stand up and repeat on your other leg or out the side, once you have done this repeat and also do morning and night!.
If your lucky a local dance studio might offer stretch classes, the majority of girls going to these classes will be trained dancers who are extremely flexible but don't feel put off you'll soon be at their level!.

plenty of yoga and stretch in the morning, at night, and when you get home from school!. light exercise like jogging and swimming is nice too!. try joining ballet, gymnastics, or even just get a membership to a local gym and sign up for yoga!.
