Listen to the music and see what sort of emotions it has!. Then fit the emotions to dances!. Eg If the music makes you feel sad, try slower movements!.
Try this on your own when you don't have the presure of somebody watching you: Put the music on and do any dancing- don't think about what your doing or how crazy it is- it might just be jumping around to it!. When you have finished think about what you did!. If you did some crazy jumping around then add in some jumps, if you moved quickly around the whole space, do this with your dance!.
Another thing is to pick some of the best routines you have done and think why they were so good!. If you know what sort of moves you like in a dance (eg in ballet a pirroette folled by an attitude turn) try to add it in!.
Hope this helps and Good LuckWww@QuestionHome@Com

well it really depends on what genre you do!. you have to listen to the music and feel the message it's sending to it's listeners!. A job of a choreographer is to show that message alot better!. I don't do any other genres apart from hip hop / rnb!. But i guess they're pretty much the same!. when it comes to hip hop and rnb, you listen to the lyrics more, sometimes you can make a literal translation from words to actions!. like if a song goes " snap yo fingas" you add an action in which you snap your fingers!.

i hope this helps! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
