The great thing about ballroom is that it's not one of those types of dance that requires you to be young!. People of all ages do it and some people start very late in life!. There are people that didn't start learning or competing till they were in their late 20's, and I've seen 80-year-olds still on the competition floor!. Many ballroom dancers don't get really really good till later on in life, the World Latin Champions, Bryan and Carmen, won the title of World Latin Champions for the first time when they were both about 30, and they held that title undefeated for 9 years!. So 14 is actually relatively young in the world of ballroom!.

also, try to remember that "professional" refers to whether or not you get paid, not how much experience you have!. For instance, studios like Fred Astaire take people off the street and train them to teach ballroom, and even though they would have only been dancing for a month or two, they would be classed as professionals in the ballroom world and would be unable to compete as amateurs, simply because they get paid to teach!. You could dance for 40 years or more, but as long as you'd never been paid for it, you'd still be an amateur!.

I hope this helps :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, assuming you are willing to work extra-hard, you have a natural sense of rhythm, and you move gracefully!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, maybe if it was like ballet or jazz, but most people start ballroom when they're older!. But look at it this way, even if you don't go pro then you'll still always have the best wedding dance!! hahaWww@QuestionHome@Com
