My friend danced at this event thing, and when I looked at the performance sheet for my friend and it said she and my other friend were dancing "Open" for their type of dance!. I saw my friend's dance, and she dancing to Crash by Gwen Stefani!. It looked kinda modern but it was not hip hop!. you mainly here of "open" at dance competitions and shows!. It usually is either:
A!. Has some gymnastics skills in it, but not enough for it to be called an acro routine!. (acro routines consist of 5 feet, over head moves!. AKA flips, cartwheels, handstands)
or B!. it doesn't necessarily fit into any certain category, like jazz, tap, hip hop, so what you are describing would make sense for being an open routine!.
As for you learning it!.!.!. well if you want to learn the style your friend did then talk to her and see if she will teach you!. Or find out who taught her and ask them!. And if she just taught herself and won't teach you, then create your own style of open!.Just think of the way you njoy moving your body when your dancing, and turn those moves into your own style, then that would also be considered open!. Hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com
