Oh do I ever know what that feels like! I'm 13 too and in Jazz, Modern, and just regular Ballet this year, everybody treats me like I know absolutely nothing and just looks down on me!. I'm just totally ignored!

For a start, try strengthening your feet a little bit everyday, instead of leaning on the heel of your feet, shift your weight to the ball of your foot!. Or curl your toes into your foot and see how long you can stay that way!. Those are 2 great ways of strengthening your feet!. Next don't be afraid to ask for help!. Maybe get a private dance tutor!. Third try your best, and have fun! Don't forget to smile! It really helps with pirouettes! :D If you mess up, just laugh and say "oops! I messed up!" Your still ok if you know where you messed up, and how to fix it! I'm sure the other girls (or guys) will understand it was just a mistake, they've all been through that at one time or another!. The only way we humans learn is through mistakes!

Hope I helped to boost your confidence a little! :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

Could you talk to your teacher and ask her for some advice on how to improve!?

This could also be case of low self-esteem so really reflect on your dancing because it may turn out that you're not a bad dancer at all!. (Trust me, I know how it is)

I'm sure your teacher wouldn't put you in a ballet recital en pointe with the seniors if he/she didn't think you were good enough!.

Hope it all works out for you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

you just need to dedicate all of your free time to practicing!. practice the piece over and over again until you can do it with no flaws!. to say backwards seems a bit extreme!. also, try some basic things!. just do some of the simple things in your dance over and over again (ie if you are struggling with a pirouette part, keep doing pirouettes)!. you will get better and be more confident with your dancing in no time!Www@QuestionHome@Com

im 13 too! & i take jazz, hip hop, and modern! :)
im having a dance recital w/ older ppl too!
all you have to do is make sure you have good balance, try curling your toes so when u stretch [the splits kind of stretch] u can almost touch the ground!. you shud also try to get used to an addience so u dont mess up!. if you mess up tho, you shud remember the steps and counts of your dance, it helps wen u mess up,so u cud get back with the group fast!. also practice alot!. eat healthy and excersize too!
make sure u have fun too, cuz thats wehat dancing is all about! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

You're a dancer too!? Wow cool! Anyway, maybe have a quiet word to your dance teacher, asking her to put you at the back; so you're still in the dance but not front and centre if you make a mistake!
You could also ask one of the older students in the dance class to give you extra lessons for maybe half an hour once a week!. Even that little bit of extra can do a world of good!.
Hope this helps and good luck with your recital!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The only thing you can do is practice, and try your hardest!. Don't let the other dancers intimidate you!. Do the best YOU can do, not the best they can do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
