i know your wear tights, obviously, but are you supposed to wear a bra and underwear!? also, if your leotard has a low- cut back would it look weird if you wore a bra!? sports bra!? thank you! =) Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Generally no, you don't wear underwear!. The tights have a cotton crotch so you wear them under your leo!. But if you really feel the need, then wear a thong that won't show!. As far as bras are concerned, leotards usually have a built in shelf bra that should give you enough support but I do have some "jazz" students in my ballet class that feel more comfortable wearing their sports bra top under their leo only because they have to quickly change into their clothes for jazz class!. To cut it short, in ballet, strictly speaking, you only wear tights and a leo!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I don't normally wear underwear underneath, unless i have my period!. Many leotards are high cuts, meaning that the underwear is visible underneath, unless you also get high cut underwear!. You'll find that your ballet tights (if they are good quality) have a lining in the crotch which is a substitute for underwear!. As for a bra, again i don't usually wear one!. A leotard will hold you firmly in place, as the leotard is supposed to be tights!. There is no need for a bra unless your especially large busted!. I do think it would looks a little strange with a bow back leotard with a bra or sports bra!. If you do want to wear under wear, it is beast to get a low cut leotard, with a higher back, and thick straps!. I hate wearing underwear under my leotard during ballet because it feels uncomfortable!.!.!. the only time I do is when I have my period!. But if you're insecure about not wearing underwear, then you could try the 'barely there' underwear because they're super thin and tend to work quite well!.
