Question: I wanna be a dance teacher!!!?
Hi, i really want to be a dance teacher who teaches ballet and modern!. I am 13 and have taken modern for one year and i am just starting ballet this year although i already know alot of the moves!. I calculated that at the end of high school i will have had 6 years of modern and 5 years of ballet!. Is this enough to get in to a college that offers dance!? What are some colleges that offer dance!? And are there any in massachusetts!? Any one that is a dance teacher or just knows alot about teaching dance please answer!. oh and please dont say you dont have to go to college because i want to go to college!. thanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

Ive been a dance teacher, and its a great and rewarding career!

Keep in mind in another 5 years!.!.!.!. The University of Iowa is known for their ballet and modern programs! I currently take classes here and I love it!!

And you dont need any dance experience to get in dance classes at colleges, you may need them to get into the graduate programs, but you work your way up from the basic classes!.!.!.!.

good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com

It all depends how hard you work in class as long as your audition goes smoothly it should be fine!. Ballet takes a lot of technique and strength so if you're just starting this year you need to work REALLY hard and make sure your ballet class is like the extremely classical kind!. Some colleges that I know of that offer dance programs are anaheim in california and boston college in massachusetts :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

you need to work very hard seeing that you are starting kind of late!. you need to know all of the steps, positions, and the correct muscles to use while doing those steps and how to strengthen them!. you need to know the body positions, and the typical class and the steps that help strengthen your body to do other steps!. you will probably need to go to college and get a BFA and training in how to teach dance!. along with that knowing what is healthy to eat, useful stretches and warm ups, how to fit pointe shoes and about the different kinds, and how to properly correct someone for each step so that you don't hurt them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, you definitely need to take a lot of ballet classes! I have been taking ballet for 10 years so far and I still don't know everything! I also want to be a dance teacher but it all comes down to your skill!. Of course you can get into a college for dance but I'm not sure how good of a one you can!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
