Question: Ballet- Question about leg muscles!?
I have been doing ballet for a very young age and I am interested in auditioning for some very well known schools this coming fall, I'm currently attending a professional school!. I'm curious about leg muscles!. My legs are not fat, they have a lot of muscle!. What I'm concerned about is the amount of muscle, because they are starting to look bulky!. I see many girls with long thin legs, but are also extremely strong!. How can I thin out my legs so they don't appear bulky!?
Thanks so much, your advice is a great help!

I have been a ballet dancer for almost 20 years and had that problem a little bit when I was in high school!. I have a natural muscular body!. I am built more like a gymnast or cheerleader!. If you eat more lean meats you can build leaner muscle instead of bulky muscle!. Try to avoid working out your legs with any weights!. I studied in Chicago for a few years and my instructor made me do alot of stretching at the bar and floor stretching before and after class!. I found that helpful and also(I'm not sure of your technique or how you dance) but I used to always tighten my legs muscles while dancing, especially while on point because I guess i felt stronger!. But when I started stretching regularly, I started to relax my dancing!. It sounds strange but it really helps!. But my favorite thing to do is the new york city ballet workout!. It has exercises to help create long, lean muscles and it works! I think you would really enjoy it!. Ill put a link to where you can order it if you are interested!. I hope this helps!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

you should stretch after dancing or doing strenghtthening excersises becase when doing strenghtthening excersise, our muscles get bulky if you dont stretch right afterward they become smaller but still the same streght!.
