Question: Dancing!!!!!!! Jazz or Contemporary, I can't decide!?
I love to dance and I have been doing it for awhile but this yr I have a problem cuz I signed up for everything I wanted but my mom won't let me take both Jazz and contemporary (everything eles I wanted to take more then those two)!. Contemporary is new to my studio this yr so I want to try it out but jazz it also very fun!. I signed up for jazz but now I want 2 take contemporary cuz it sounds more fun and it works out better for me for time but jazz works fine to just not as well!. So I don't know what I should REALLY take for this yr!.!.!. jazz or contemporary!? What do u like better!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Making a decision can be very difficult, especially when it involves dance!. If you cant make up your mind, first, go over the two styles of dance!.
Contemporary-(also called modern) danced barefoot or with "Modern Shoes"!. More laid back then jazz, and teaches how to alter one part of your body and not another!. It is also a lot of fun, the class and the recital!. Overall, it is a lot of fun! Most companies place you based on your jazz level!.
Jazz- Lots of fun, danced with jazz shoes!. Very exhilarating, builds muscle, and can be so much fun! (i don't know what else to say- lol)
If you want- try contemporary since its new, or if you have a Deep passion for jazz, stick with it!. Either way, im sure you will love either one you choose!

Personally, I LOVE contemporary because it's kind of like jazz, but it's a lot more emotional like lyrical, therefore in a way you would get both styles of dance If you've taken jazz before I would go with contemporary because there isn't a strict code as to what contemporary really is, there's no rules to code to it!. Officially it's a cross between jazz, lyrical and modern though, and it's often confused as the same thing as modern, and some choreographers choreograph it a lot like modern but it's technically very different!. If the time for contemporary works out better, than I would definitely try it out! I tried it this summer and I completely fell in love with it!. I wish my studio offered it!. Jazz is a lot of fun, and it's a classic dance style, but if you've taken it before, then I would definitely try something new to see how you like it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I LOVE contemporary!!!!!! But jazz is also a lot of fun! My advice would be to try contemporary this year and then just go back to jazz next year if you don't like it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
