Question: What are the different ballet positions for arms!?
I know the basic 5, but what are the TWO positions for fourth and the TWO positions for fifth!? (arms only)Www@QuestionHome@Com

open fourth and crossed fourth and open fifth and fifth!.

the second from the end is crossed 4th and last is 5th:

It actually depends what syllabus you do!.!.!. because my syllabus teaches differently to the above posters!. The Ceccetti arms, for example, are very different to RAD arms!.

This MAY have confused you into thinking there are two different fourths and fifths!. You see, i'll explain!.

1st arm position: same in all syllabuses!. arms in front of body, about belly button height!.

2nd arm position: same in all syllabuses!. arms extended to side!.

3rd arm position: variations according to syllabus!. some have 3rd as one arm in second, one arm in first!. some have third as one arm in second and one above the head (as in fifth!.)

4th arm position: again can vary!. Some syllabuses have it as one arm in second, one above the head (as in fifth!.) some syllabuses have it as one arm in first, one arm above head (as in fifth!.)

5th arm position: both arms above head!. same for all syllabuses!.

So i can see how you could be confused!. just focus on what your syllabus teaches!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
