It kind of depends on what your studio or teacher allows for class!. During classes, stick to something basic like a basic leotard and skirt, and either dance paws or foot undies!. I get them at discount dance supply!.
Personally, I don't have a dress code, so I tend to wear a tight sports bra or cropped dance top(black), nude cropped tights, booty shorts, and nude coloured foot thongs or modern dance shoes!.

For performances on the other hand, I wear something that the character I'm dancing would wear!. I always have a character with a back story when I dance, even if it's just a generic routine without any pre-made story!. I make it up!.

But usually I wear something nice and flowy, but that doesn't hinder my movements!. Short dance dresses are nice, but I've found that discount dance supply has some really nice lightweight skirts that you can layer to make some really cool looks!. I tend to prefer to go bare midriff, so I usually end up in some sort of tight crop top/sports bra type of thing!. But, there again, it depends on the dress code of where ever you're performing, and what your teacher has to say about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it really depends on the studio!. if it is more of a contemporary edgey studio then you can pretty much wear anything!. booty shorts, gym shorts, tank top, baggy t shirt, dance paws, hair down, tube socks!. what ever you like!. but if it is more of a classical studio then i would stick with hair in a pony tail or maybe even a bun with a leotard and tight shorts or a skirt!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Leotard and skirt always looks nice, but anything that's kind of flowing is good!.!.!.!. for my lyrical dance i wear a just above the knee length floaty dress!. But its what you feel comfortable in really!
