Question: Contemporary dancing!?
I got interested in contemporary dancing after watching So You Think You Can Dance, and I really want to take some classes, but the problem is, I'm going to be 14 in 2 months! Am I way too old to start dancing!? It seems like all dancers start training when they are very young!. So, people, what's your thoughts on the matter!? Should I take classes or am I too old!? Thanks in advance!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you had said,
"I'm nearly 14 and I want to be a professional ballet dancer!. I've never had lessons!. Am I too old to start !?" then I would have said yes!.

But this is completely different because this is contemporary and you just want to do it because you like it!.

So of course you're not too old to start ! If you really want to do it, do it ! Just try to gain some flexibility and strength, because you'll need it!.

Practice turns, kicks and leaps and you'll be fine!. And even if you start contemporary and you're really bad at it, it won't matter because you will improve within time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it really depends are you dancing for fun or competitively!. im 13 right now and i dance in competitions but i started dancing @ 3 years old!. but who knows you could have amazing natural talent!. another thing make sure you hav a high tolerance of pain because you can easily hurt yourself when you do contemporary!. i used to come home w/ bruises on my legs, but it doesnt hurt anymore lol :)!. best of luck and dont forget 2 remember sabraWww@QuestionHome@Com

well if you're just doing it for fun, of course your not too old! sabra from season 3!? i think!?!? only danced for 3 years! so if you work really hard you can be that good too! you are never too old to dance!. lots of places will offer classes that are perfect for you!.

again!.!.if you just wanna do it for fun, yeah!.
but if you really wanna get serious about it, you could probably achieve it with lots of hard work! =]

good luck! Www@QuestionHome@Com

You're definitely not too old! For my studio, you need to be at least 13 to start the contemporary class!. About 60% of the people in all of my dance classes are about 25+!.

Hope I helped :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
