Actually, both are important!.

Turn out does not happen by doing exercises right!. You need to work on it!. If you are falling when you try to turn out, you are doing it wrong!. Bring it back a little for now and do your butterfly and frog exercises!. However, don't force it beyond what you can do!. One exercise I find useful is to sit on the floor with your legs straight in front of you!. Point your toes and try to get your little toe on the floor!. Remember that you should be turning out from your thighs and not your knees or you might injure yourself!.

I think your teacher wants you to work on your turn out but don't sacrifice on posture!. Just try to show that you are making an effort!. Always make sure you think of turning out when you are doing your exercises!.

As for posture, stand straight with your shoulders pulled back but remember not to arch your back!. Press down your shoulders and try to reach for the ceiling with the top of your head!. Try to be aware of the position of your spine!. I like imagine that the discs of the spine is aligned one on top of another!.

Hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

squeeze your butt when doing the barre excercize or the floor exercize!. sit in your butterfly(feet together sitting on the floor with your knees bent and push your knees to the floor) and your frog ( same thing as butterfly but our layign on your stomach instead of sitting) work on a strogn core to keep you balanced!. really work your rotators and squeeze your butt!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think you should focus on your posture mainly, holding your back straight, shoulders back a little, butt tucked in!. and you shouldn't force a turnout!. you can reeeeaally hurt your knees, and bones and ankles, as you practice your turn out will improveWww@QuestionHome@Com

posture!.
shoulders back and relaxed, your back is straight cannot be slouchy!.
beacuse if you have bad posture, you will be unbalanced when you do chanee turns and all those turns!.
spotting is a big thing in ballet too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the trick to it is staying on your big toe while you do your turns becuase it gives you more balanceWww@QuestionHome@Com

get some bands and ask ur teacher to show u exercises to improve your turn out!. focus on turnout!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
