Go for it!. Stretch everyday!. practice everyday!. go to class as much as possible but keep up with your school work!. take private lessons if possible audition for major ballet companys!. even if you dont get in you have more experience for other auditions and that will come in handy!. go to major ballet companys webites and look up their summer intensives!. Look at the audition schedules and look for the city nearest to you that they are audtioning for!. also look up school terms that they have!. ABT and SAB are in New York but they have fantastic school terms!. dont give up!. keep your dreams aliveWww@QuestionHome@Com

That's a great dream, but it is very hard to make your dream a reality!. Only because you can't go very far being a prima ballerina [professional ballerina] because there is a whole lot of dancers, trying to get the one spot of either a prima ballerina in a ballet company of being the head master of an academy!. You may want a broader range of your future career, such as a ballet teacher, because alot of studios are looking for ballet teachers!. I know that this isn't the kind of answer you were looking for, but i thought i might just let you know! :]Www@QuestionHome@Com

You will need:

1) A TON of talent
2) Great teachers who are networked into the professional ballet world
3) Participation in summer intensives put on by national ballet companies (Joffrey, ABT, etc!.) If you have enough talent, a lot of these companies have dance academies associated with them that train young talent!. This is one of the best routes to get into the professional world!. If you are not picked up it is a sign that you need more experience and probably more talent!.
4) 12-15 hours of classes/week plus Saturday rehearsals for shows like Nutcracker, usally a Spring show too!.
5) Burning ambition to the exclusion of most else (however please DO keep your schoolwork up to standards)
6) Eat a balanced diet
7) Avoid injury
Just a few comments!.!.!.!.realistically, depending on your teachers etc!. if you have or had the talent to possibly turn professional, you should have already been told that you did and your school should have given you some guidance as to what to do next!. Many are called to the dance world but very very few are chosen!. Good LuckWww@QuestionHome@Com

Your best chance at becoming a professional ballet dancer would be to audition and be accepted into a very very good ballet school!. Some examples are The Royal Ballet School The Australian Ballet School, The Kirov etc!. This may mean for you going to live in a different state or country!. But to get the best possible chance of being a ballet dancer professionally, these kinds of schools are the way to go!.

If you don't get into one of these schools, you could join an associate program with these schools (Royal Ballet School Associates etc!.) also make sure you go to lot's of ballet summer schools and get out there as much as possible!. If you don't get accepted to a top class school, find the next best thing!.

You need to speak with both your teacher and your parents about this!. Becoming a professional dancer doesn't just happen!. it takes a lot of work, but you need excellent teachers as well!. Check out different ballet schools websites for more details!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
