Question: I take ballroom, someone click this please

Okay So I'm taking a ballroom class right, I wanna learn how to freestyle in ballroom !.!. Like without having anyone to teach me but i dont know how to start!. Like in So you think you can dance when Cat says their names and they start dancing there was this one girl who did tango/salsa or something!. How can you do that!? Do they practice!? Please help ! Firstly, you very rarely freestyle in ballroom!. All the moves they do are actual ballroom or latin moves that they've put into their choreography!. It's not like hip hop, where you can make moves up, ballroom and latin have set moves that can be used in different combinations!. also, what looks like freestyle to you is probably very carefully choreographed!. It looks that good because they've rehearsed it beforehand and choreographed it to make it flow smoothly!. And realistically, you'd have to have had several years of training before you could choreograph your own routines!. There really isn't any way to learn how to choreograph a seemingly freestyled routine like that without training!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have to learn the pieces to put together!. It takes a lot of practice to get the movements right, and if you don't have the components, you don't have anything to put into the dance!.
Next up is the musical interpretation, which depends on the leader; I'm not sure whether you're leading or following!. The music is a framework, into which you fit the movements!.
(I'm a bit biased, but) Argentine tango is the best latin dance for improvisation because it doesn't use "the basic" for social dancing!. You can pause, speed up, shift directions; it's all about your interpretation of the music!.
