Question: Should i go back to dancing!?
okay so i used to dance when i was 9
i did ballet & jazz
i did that for 3 years & then quit

now i'ts been 3 years since i've danced and i'm thinking about getting back into it, but i'm kind of scared i'll suck
i'm not flexible at all and i can only do a pieroutte
should i go back or forget about it!?

Firstly, don't be scared!!!

You have nothing to be afraid of!
I sorta can't be bothered reciting the story, but there was a guy on a TV dance show who was brilliant!. And then he shocked me by saying he only started dancing a year ago and he was about 30! he wasn't flexible either, he was just a good dancer!

And if you want to be flexible, here are a few tips:

* When you get out of the bath or shower, do a few simple streches!. Your body is more flexible when it is warm and damp and relaxed!.
* Practise every day! It really really really does help!.
* Don't give up!
* Don't get someone to forcefully push you into stretches!. That may snap muscles and create injuries!.

And must I add, you can do a pirouette! That's a good thing!
Practise ballet spins, they're seriously easy!.
All you do is turn on tippy - toes and lift one leg, bend it and place the back of your foot against the inside of your other leg's thigh!. That sound complicated but just follow these steps:

I tried and at first I kept falling over but then I succeeded!. Mind you, you won't be able to do like 5 spins on the first try, you'll only be able to do one or two!. Just keep practising!

Do you want to dance!? Is it something that you love to do!?

Then yes, you should!. It doesn't matter how long you've been away - if you have a good teacher, he/she will help you get your flexibility back, and also help you to relearn steps that you've forgotten!.

If you're still scared, look up some online lessons before you start!. It'll at least get you sort of back into the flow of things before you start attending the actual lessons!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

so your saying you quit when you were 12, and now your 15!? That isnt too long a period of time anyway, so i think if you go back you could get quite good! go for it!Www@QuestionHome@Com
