Position:Home>Dancing> I would like to be a dancer, but i'm big-sized??

Question: I would like to be a dancer, but i'm big-sized!?!?
I'm around 162 cm/5 feet four, and i'm 63 kg/138pounds!. I have been dancing since i was 6, informal dances like signing up in a christian dance group, attending dance classes(not ballet), and being a dancer in high school!.

Dance in high school was good, but there were many times where i was being discriminated for my size!.
In a few months time i would be going to tertiary education, and i would want to join the dance assemble!. But i dont want the past to recur!.

What should i do about it!? Should i really lose weight just to fit in again!? Of course, i desire to have the "perfect body", but is it really worth it; Am i being "someone else"!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't worry, be happy!

Ok, I should stop messing around!.
But seriously, don't worry!

While I suggest losing a bit of weight, you can still be a brilliant dancer even if you're a bit big!

And just a (hopefully) helpful hint, eat lamb (whoops I nearly wrote"eat lamps"!!) before doing excersise!. Lamb chops contain some type of chemical which makes it extremely easy to lose weight!. Trust me!.

Maybe you could also do some type of fitness class as well as dance!.
And no, you're not being "someone else"!. You're just considering if you should lose weight or not!

Well hope things work out for you and hope I helped!.

I see a lot of people are telling you to lose some weight, but I understand thats not the easiest thing in the world!.
Well, if you really love to dance, and it is your passion, then I say ignore what everybody else thinks and follow your dreams!!
"The Perfect Body" is technically different on everybody!. You could be exactly how you are now, and that could be your perfect body!.
Dancers are not judged by their size, but their dedication and eagerness!.

Good luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you enjoy dancing, it shouldn't matter what size you are!. If it's something you love doing, don't let your size (which isn't even that big) stop you from doing it!. also, since you desire to have the "perfect body" dancing is something that could help you lose weight!. So it's a win/win situation!. =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

Have you ever seen the movie Hairspray!. Zac Efron and Nikki Blonsky!. It is well worth watching!. It is about a big sized girl that loved to dance and would love to dance on her favourite show but people thought she was too big!. It is set in the 60's!. I t is a really good film and I think it could help you and give you confidence!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ok you are so not overweight for your height I'm 5'7 and my BMI says I should be around 140, so I say you should totally go for it, if you want to lose a bit of weight it wouldn't hurt, but your fine the way you are!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh my gosh, you are NOT big-sized!! In fact, you're normal sized!. I don't know how anyone could think that that's big!. To put it in perspective, I'm a Ballroom and Latin American dancer, I'm 168cm (5'6") and I weigh 72kg!. And I've been dancing for the past 7 years!. You don't have to be super skinny to be a good dancer, I'm one of the best in my class, and my dance teacher isn't exactly skinny either!. There are plenty of big girls in the world that are excellent dancers (i!.e!. Donyelle Jones, Season 2 of SYTYCD), but trust me, you're not big-sized!. Just go for it, who cares what other people think!? All that matters is what YOU think!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
