Question: Ok so!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.pointe question!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?10 points to best answer!!?
well i love to dance!. i take 4 dance classes a week 2 are ballet classes (one of them is on tues!. and is 1 1/2 hours and one is on friday and is 2 1/2 hours) and 1 is a contempery class and one is a hip hop class!. i dance at this place called the adg!.

i've been dancing ever since i was young and i did alot of jazz/ballet but never REAL BALLET like i do now!.

NOW THE QUESTION IS:

about 4 months ago i just started doing a real ballet class for the first time (besides when i was like 3 when i did it for one year but it wasnt even ballet) and i got put into pre -elementry wich is after level 7!. i thought it was weired because i thought that i would go in level one but the teacher said that i would pick it up quick because of all the dancing that i have done!. when i got into the class i noticed that some girls started to get pointe shoes and now i am the only one out of my class of 14 people that doesn't have pointe shoes!. My teacher said "oh dont worry, you wont get them any time soon!." yet she always says that i am right up with the class and i'm doing great and that my feet and thighs are strong!.

what does that mean!?!?

what time do you think i'll be able to get them!?
do you think i'll get them by the time i'm 15!?!?

please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
work on your ballet technique (pointed toes, proper alignment, etc), build strength (legs and ankles to support you, as well as your stomach and back for turns), stretch (this isn't directly related to pointe work but you will benefit greatly!), and PRACTICE!

a good teacher will make sure that you are completely ready before allowing you en pointe!. work on ballet skills because pointe is advanced ballet!.

pointe can be dangerous if you aren't ready, so trust in your teacher!. she IS a professional!.

you could also ask your teacher and peers for critiques (they might see something you dont)!.

if you feel like you aren't getting enough attention, try going to another studio!. i think the reason you are not on pointe yet is because you haven't taken ballet in a while!. work extra hard, but know your limits!.

hope that was helpful!. sorry, i'm not a professional, only a student!.

good luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
