Question: Who to listen to polo teacher or ballet teacher (about my weight)!?
My polo teacher (riding instructor) wants me to put on some more weight, as i am under weight to play on the team for my age group!. But my ballet teacher says i am a perfect weight to dance, and i don't really want to gain any weight , and i don't know how to either!. I have a really fast metabolism, i eat like a horse (healthy food), but i do 12 hours of exercise a week, so i burn it all off!. What should i do!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

why do you have to be heavy to play polo!?

are you going to play polo on a team forever!? seems like you wouldn't want to bulk up for anything that isn't long term, especially if you are second guessing it!.

it's easier to bulk up than slim down for me, so i wouldn't do it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well!. I think that your dance teacher is talking mostly about the shape and size of your body!. You should stay around that size!. She isn't talking about your weight per se!. Because you could be the same weight you are but have a lot less muscle and a lot more fat and your teacher would not be satisfied!.

So you want to NOT gain any more fat and not get any larger in shape BUT gain weight BY gaining muscle!. Gaining muscle is good for both polo and dance!. You will gain weight but not look any heavier, so your dance teacher won't notice!. You will be all muscle essentially and no dance teacher can complain unless you are the size of a girl on a fitness magazine!.

The way to achieve that look is to eat more protein than carbs!. (Eat lots of protein)!. Make sure you eat more than you are going to burn off!. Lots of protein (lean meat, tofu, beans, etc), lots of fruits/veggies, and a normal amount of carbs so that your body will burn THAT off instead of the protein!.

After you get the diet regimen down, you'll want to do yoga and pilates (and stuff on the ellipticals and treadmills) on a regular basis to make sure that you get toned muscle and not bulky muscle like you get from weightlifting!. Nothing is uglier on a dancer than bulky muscle because dancing is all about sleek lines!.

If you do all that perfectly, your dance teacher will never notice the muscle and weight gain and your polo teacher will be satisfied when you tell him what your weight is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you feel that you don't want to gain any weight!.!.!.then don't!. Weight isn't everything when it comes to sports and exercise!.

If you're concerned about it!.!.!.!.maybe you should consider talking with a doctor or nutritionist about what you should do!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's far better to be an underweight polo player than an overweight dancer!. You'll still be able to play on the team if you're any good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
