I think you should sit down with your parents and have a VERY good, and long talk!.

You should tell them how dancing might be their passion but its def!. not yours, and you want to do something that YOU enjoy!

also, that it is hard to manage grades and dance and sportsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Why cant you just tell them that you dont want to dance anymore!? its a huge decision to quit dance because its such a life keeper for some people!. if you arent sure that you want to quit d=for good, take a trial period!. in that time you should try to take up something that sounds interesting to you but keeps you in shape!. alot of parents enroll their children in ballet for the excersize not knowing how much more of a commitment it is!. they may be more receptive if you keep getting the exercise!. try swimming!. its amazing exercize and dancers love to cross train with it so if you decide to change your mind it wont be as hard to get back into your normal routine, maybe even easier! on the other hand, you may be positive about making this change!. in that case, sit down with your parents at a time when they arent rushed or stressed (just after they get home from work is not a great time) and calmly explain to them that dance just isnt for you and that there is something out there that could make you happier and that you want to keep looking!. remember that parents always like to be the ones in control and in charge so let them give their imput and do NOT give them ultimatums("if you dont let me stop, i wont babysit for my kid brother anymore") <- bad! also, tell them that youre at risk for an injury if they keep making you dance!. dancers get hurt the most when theyre tired and thats basically the same thing as not wanting to be there!. good luck with this and let me know how it works out for you! lola:)Www@QuestionHome@Com

You've just got to tell them, even if it is hard!. My friend was in dance class for 7 years, but after about 5 she got bored!. She kept going just for her parents so she began to resent dance and the class!. It wasn't good for her and she wasn't happy or improving because she didn't care anymore!. Quitting was one of the best things that she could have done for herself!. She felt so relieved when she told her parents!.
I know it's difficult, but you have just got to do it for your own sake!.
Hope this helped and good luck =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

think it over hard and if you decide that you really want to quit then sit down with your parents, or one night over dinner, tell your parents that dancing takes up too much time and that you need that time for school work and other stuff!. explain to them that you dont really enjoy it as much as you thought you would and you dont have a passion for it!. they should understand, and you have to do it because dance classes can cost a fortune(with costumes included)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Be honest!.!.!.but sometimes!.!.!.!.it is better to present it as a break!.!.!.!.!.why don't you tell them you are unhappy and say something like!.!.!.!.!." I need a break to think about it!.!.!.!.!."!.!.!.!.after that!.!.!.maybe the break is useful!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you really want to quit dancing then i think your parents would understand because parents want the best for their children!.But i think you should think it a lot because you might regret it!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I wish I had parents that would have paid for dance lessons!. Maybe you just need a break from it!. Take 6 months off and then see how you feel!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Say "Mom, Dad, I don't want to go to dance class anymore"Www@QuestionHome@Com
