Question: Adult ballet/jazz/modern classes vs!. private lessons!?
I am looking to start dancing ballroom soon but I also want to do ballet, jazz, and modern dance!. I am serious about it and would like to be very good!. I am not looking for just a casual class at all!. I want to go to a serious school that will help me reach my fullest potential!. I am 21 years old and I am just wondering if there is a huge difference between taking adult dance classes and just taking private lessons!. I have heard that adult dance classes aren't as intense and if you want to get better you should do private lessons to have more one-on-one time with the instructor!. If you have any opinion or info on this please let me know!. I need someone that can help me progress because I haven't been in dance since I did jazz when I was 16!. As of right now I am leaning towards the private lessons but I would also like to hear what everyone else thinks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would suggest a private class if you are serious and want to reach your full potential!. With a class the teacher has to focus on everyone!. But with private she will be able to focus just on you!. I did a year of private ballet and then the next year i was able to go en pointe!. And this year im in my studios elite ballet class!. Without that year of private classes i wouldnt be at the level where iam today!. And you dont have any distractions, its just you and the teacher, you dont have to socialize you just focus on your class!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well 21 is a Little late to start ballet, but if you want to take ballet an really progress you can take both the group ballet and the privet lessons!. =] whit a group your more social and you have more fun!. (even if the teacher screams at you) (they scream allot) o_O but they don't pay much attention to you because they have other students in the class room!. But if you if take the privet lessons the teacher will cover more basics with you and correct you immediately!. good luck!!=]Www@QuestionHome@Com

If I were you, I'd take private lessons!. I don't know how things are around you, but most of the "adult" classes in my area basically teach people who are living out a childhood fantasy of being a dancer!. And they aren't exactly the highest skill level or anything!. But if you're still not sure, ask to just sit in on a class, so you can see what they do in adult classes, and if it will be a challenge, or too easy for you!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
