no you're not too old at all! 15 is a great age to start! : ) Most studios have classes for beginning teens and adults!.

You'll start with the basics!.!.!.plies, tendus, etc!.

Cost depends!. For the teen class at my studio its about $65 per month for 2 classes per week!.

You'll need ballet slippers (I recommend leather)
pink tights
black leotard

sometimes there are competitions if you get good enough!. : )

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

15 is deff not to old to start!. I started ballet at 14 and this year im doing pointe!. You can start ballet at any age!. And yes it is hard work, it takes passion and dedication!. For a begginer you will probably do alot of things at the barre!. )plies, tendus, degages, battement and more) You will work on pirouettes, pique turns, arabesques, tour jetes, grande jetes, assemble, attitude, ronde de jambe, port de bras, jete, glissade!. and of course the feet and arm positions!. You will learn about turnout, spotting, But it depends what your teacher teaches you!. The things above are some of the things my teacher taught during my first year of ballet!. The cost depends on the studio you go to!. also if you want to do competitions you should probably talk to your studio, if they have a competition team!.

here is a dictionary of ballet terms

http://www!.abt!.org/education/dictionary/!.!.!.

this is about turnout, a very important thing for ballet

NO, you can still start!! that's silly of course you can!. Age doesn't matter! I started dance when i was 2
Just find a local dance studio!.
The cost depends on the dance studio!. (the one i go to is pretty expensive)
take a beggining teen ballet class!.
you'll need ballet shoes, but you canprobably order them through your dance studio!.

Have Fun!! Good luck!
p!.s!. if you want to take other styles of dance, you should still take ballet!. it's the basis of all dance stylesWww@QuestionHome@Com

Im starting ballet for the first time in september, but im 13 years old!. My sister started at 15 and by the time she was 18 she was on pointe!. Your never too old to start ballet! Prices vary from different dance studios!. At first you'll probably have to start with kids that are younger than you but thats okay!. I'll have to do that too!. Usually they tell you to buy your dance gear at a specific store or they tell you to order them!. You have to be very commited! There is usually always a competition at the end of the dance year!. You can choose to take recreation dance or competitive!. Good luck!
Oh and usually a dance year is like a school year!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't Worry! I did start at about four (and I'm 14 now), but if you have a love for ballet, it's possible! At my academy, they offer teen classes, for older begginers, if you have no experience, these would be perfect for you! It is REALLY hard work, even for long time dancer's, but just get prepare yourself for the physical demands!. Stretch every single day, and try to do your splits!. Practice pirouetts!. also learn every single position (1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th position, there's no 3rd by the way!)!. If I were you, I'd get a book or two on ballet, or just go on the internet!. The American Ballet Theatre dictionary is great! You could also go to the school before you enroll, and ask a ballet student what to expect from this particular school!. As for money, if they're a formal school, expect to spend a bit of money!. Go to DiscountDanceSupply!.com for some good deals on leotards, tights, ect!. Good Luck!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Never to old, buy or get from your library a Ballet primers book!. It gives instruction and shows different positions used in ballet!. Then if you are still interested look for an instructor and or classes!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. Possibly your local recreation dept!. Good Luck and happy feet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
