Question: Ballet question!.!.!.!.!.!?
how old and how skilled must you be to get pointe shoes!? i'm in my 2nd year of dancing and i'm in compition (which is cool because you're only allowed in it if you've been in dancing for five years), so it's made me so confident i think I'm ready for pointes!. Help me!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You really should ask your instructors if you're ready for pointe!.!. but it sounds like you must be pretty good if they let you in with only two years of dance! (good job! haha) but in my ballet program, most girls start pointe at age twelve after at least 5 years of training!. I say go for it if you're ready!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hello! Well I started ballet at age 3 and my dance instructor allowed me to start pointe at age 11!. So that is a lot more years than just two!. So I would wait a couple more years!. Maybe 3!? You should definitely ask you dance teacher before you go out and buy them because toe shoes cost around $100!. Confident isn't everything about poine, your feet really have to be properely developed and I'm sorry but I don't think two years is enough!. But If you as good as you say you are, jut ask your teacher and maybe she will let you start early!.
Good Luck and keep at it!

Two year is a bit to little training in my opinion!. Were I your teacher I would have you wait at least another two years!. Ask them about it and see what they have to say!.
But I don't think your too young!. Most dancers at my studio go on pointe when they are about 10 to 12 years old!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
