Question: Do you have to have natural born ability to be a good dancer!?
I was just wondering!.!.I mean obviously a dancer could improve a lot by taking dance classes, but if two people are working just as hard as the other, doing all the same things, if one had a natural ability would she be better!? Or does it all come down to the dancer herself!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

From a biological standpoint, yes, someone can be born with qualities that "could" set them above another!. Flexibility, motor coordination, and body type are all traits that are partially, at least, genetic!. However, hard work is arguably 75-80% of the game!. So really, it's a bit of both!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

there's no such thing as bORN DANCERS!. that's bull!. Everyone started somewhere!!! I think though when you start as a kid you don't care what others think you just focus on the task of dancing and you're more open to absorbing more info than later years (where you down yourself, or worry about others looking at you or thinking you suck, or someone looks better than you or what you dress like)

What's a good dancer though!? You know I know soooo many great dancers (myself included) that haven't taken dance classes and are really good!.

There's no such thing, just one person learned a trick or two and picked it up faster!. than the other!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

People can be natural dancers but still not be good!.

You may have to work twice as hard, to be half as good as some people, but over all you will be trying harder and (hopfuly) your teacher will see that and appriciate your devotion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Certainly there is something to athleticism, but training is the overwhelmingly more important determinant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
