The most important thing you can do if you want to be a professional dancer is to train with a teacher/studio who can get you to that level!.

If your teacher has former students who have gone on to be professional ballet dancers than you are getting the training you need!.

If your teacher doesn't have professional students, or is more of a jazz/contemporary etc teacher who just happens to teach ballet as well then you need to seriously and immediately find an environment that will help you reach your goal!.

Once you find a teacher who has the skills and experience to create a professional dancer, you need to talk to them about your goal!. Say very clearly (no hinting) " I want to be a professional ballet dancer and i need you to help me" Once you put that out of the table, your teacher can work you toward that goal!.

Finally, be prepared to drop any other commitments you have!. School dance team, soccer team, art or music classes!. if being a professional is your goal you need to make ballet your priority!. You should be taking ballet class AT LEAST 5 x per week if not more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

to be honest you did start a little late!.!.
most professional ballerinas out there started when they were 3!.!. and ALOT of training is required - everyday, 5 or 6 hours of intense lessons, of couse, a good teacher would be useful too!.!.

the best is to try and apply for an arts school where you can concentrate on ballet and nothing else, a lot of the pros now went to arts school to hone up there skills, also get physically fit to get your body used to the intense physical aspect of it!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
