Question: First time teaching-Tap dancers please!?
Hey!. So I am going to be teaching this fall beginners tap!. This will be my first year teaching, Im not exactly sure what I should do!. I have some excersises in mind, bu I was hoping some of you could give me some Ideas!. Like games to play or something!. ThanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well, first off, you have to teach them the basics!. There's not too much to teach, really!. Just things like shuffle-ball-change & maxi-fords!. But I remember one of the games I played!. Everyone makes a circle, and you choose someone to go first!. They walk to the center of the circle, and do a step!. Then everyone else has to guess what the step is!. Whoever gets it first goes to the center next!.
But one important thing is, when you're trying to do a combination or exercise, always choose a fun song to do it to!. It doesn't have to necessarily be a kids song, although my dance teacher uses Kidz Bop a lot for the younger ones!. You can use regular rock music [as long as it's appropriate]!. I remember we used to do things to Let's Twist Again [or whatever it's called] and it made it SO much fun!.
