Position:Home>Dancing> Is it too late for me to start ballet?Question: Is it too late for me to start ballet!? I'm 12 and a half years old and I did ballet for about 2 months and then I stopped!. I began and stop this year and I did ok!. I really want to do it again except I'm afraid that I'll be the oldest person in the class!. And every class it says that 13 is the age limit!. I did rhythmic gymnastics for a year but I went to nationals in my first year and I did gymnastics 2 years before that!. Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Its not too late for you to start dancing agian dont listen to the poeple in your class I have a 16 year old in a 13 and 14 year old class its perfectly fine for you to start again! Sure you might feel odd being the oldest in your class but if you improve you will move up soon! Good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com It's never too late for you take ballet!. My 12 year old daughter dances in the children's cast for Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker, ad when she had rehearsals, there were adults taking beginners classes in the next studio!. I think you just have to look at other dance schools if this one is not flexible enough!. BTW, both my daughters also take rhythmic gymnastics (Levels 6 & 7, region 3, and we also went to nationals the last 2 years)!. Are you still in it!? If so, it is even more important that you continue taking ballet--it will be a big help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com i don't think that's too late!. if possible i would try to schedule a private ballet class!. i am the oldest in my tumbling groups so i kinda know how it feels!. as long as you truly like it, though, then i don't think age plays a big part!. my mom is beginning ballet!.!. and she's in her 40's and doing it with a friend!. try to find someone you know who wants to try it too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It's never to late to start ballet!. Depending on where you dance, you might be able to take a class or two in the summer!. Ballet is all technique, so once you have the technique mastered, you can move ahead and do as you please!. I am the oldest in my class by at least 2 years but that didn't stop me so it shouldn't stop you!. the dance classes that you are looking at are probably too competitiveWww@QuestionHome@Com I dont think its too late at all!.
