Modern is a little odd sometimes!. You really have to be in touch with your body to really connect with modern movements!. It's very earthy movement!. Deep meaning behind the movements!.

Jazz is more fun, upbeat (usually)!.

An amazing modern/contemporary choreographer is Mia Michaels!. Anything she has done (check youtube for So You Think You Can Dance dances she's done) is amazing!. She won an Emmy for a dance she created in season 2 of SYTYCD with Heidi and Travis just search "Heidi and Travis bench dance" on youtube and you should find it!. It was amazing!.

As far as jazz goes, Mandy Moore (no, not the singer) and Tyce Diorio are both amazing choreographers in Jazz!. Check them on youtube as well!. Check out "Sabra and Neil jazz" or "Sabra and Neil sweet dreams" on youtube!. Mandy Moore did that for season 3 of SYTYCD!.

Hope that helps!! Enjoy finding out about dance, it's an amazing art form that I think you'll really like! :)

(Sorry about that, was watching a youtube video and mary was on at the time haha I meant Mia)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Um actually Mary Murphy is a renowned ballroom dancer!. The choreographer that won an emmy was Mia Michaels, not Mary Murphy!. Mia is the end all be all for contemporary she rocks!

Contemporary/modern is really a mix of jazz and ballet!. Lots of technique and bold moves and there are soooo many varieties but it is definitely earthy!

Jazz is like the basic moves that most other dance styles steal from!. A lot of pagent dancers and broadway dancers use jazz!. With jaz there are more defined broad moves!.

If you have some dance experience and are truly moved by music, try modern!. If you have very littel dance experience go with jazz!Www@QuestionHome@Com

modern:
flex feet, slow movment, odd moves, unusual songs

jazz:
pointed feet, characterish, kind fast and energetic, fast songs, smiling and facials

i think modern is more like lyrical and jazz is more like brodway or character jazzWww@QuestionHome@Com

Modern is organic!.!.!.!. you move in a way that feels right to your body and is sometimes kinda funky but jun!.!.!.!. jazz is a little more showy (yet still super awesome)Www@QuestionHome@Com
