if you have access to a real studio with a ballet barre I recommend starting with the hallow of your ankle resting on the lowest level!. Turn your body slightly inward to the bar until your hips are square (like Barbie!) whether you are turned out or not, do some demi-plies, stretch over the top!.!.!.etc
try stretching over nose-to-knee on releve first, keep your head down for 8, lower your heel, breath for 8, then plie, breathing for 8
then do the same in 2nd position facing the barre with both hands slightly resting (no thumbs like playin piano)
always remeber to BREATHE!! it increase oxygen in blood (duh) and makes exercise more efficient when you breathe in through the nose, out through the mouth!. of course stretch your splits and drink LOTS OF WATER!!
oooh and tips for turning!.!.!.!. keep your ribs locked closed (like when you exhale) and strengthen your core with crunches!
good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

work on getting your right splits, if you don't have them already!.
first, you want to sit in a straddle, but bend your left behind you!. so your right leg is straight and left is behind!. next lean down and try to put your head as close to the ground and you can between your legs!. once you stretch your leg out, try going into the splits!. gradually work into it, first by holding it as close as you can for 10 seconds!. eventually you will be able to hold it longer, and go closer to the ground!. so pace yourself, and try not to push so far as you start feeling a lot of pain!. you shouldnt feel anything more than tightness!.
if you already have your splits, work on over-splits!.
or, you could practice holding your leg in a lift, without turning!. just to try to get the height!. make sure you always practice technically correct, so that when you do execute the turn, it will be easier for you to do, and prettier for the audience to watch!.
i really hope i helped =]Www@QuestionHome@Com
