Hi Victoria,

First of all, your description of where you put the ribbons is a bit vague!. Never ever sew your ribbons on the outside of your shoe; for one, it's aesthetically unpleasing, and also they're much more likely to come loose and pop that way!. Plus, you don't want ribbons getting scuffed up and dirty and in your way while you dance!. What you want to do is find the inseam on the shoe, in the middle of the side of the shoe, on the inside!. There should be a thick seam called the inner binding!. You want to sew the edge of your ribbon right against the side closest to the back!. In other words, your ribbon should be closer to the heel than to the box!.

You're honestly going en pointe for the first time for two hours!? Right now I'm dancing in a professional company!. Our school does not allow amateur and novice pointe dancers en pointe for more than an hour at a time, excepting rehearsals!. In my opinion, that's far too much for a beginner to be en pointe!. However, you can't very well get around it, so here's what's probably going to happen!. You'll probably have blisters, because not only is it long, but seeing as your feet are not used to the hard interior and chafing of a pointe shoe box, it's very likely!. However, if you're dancing at least once a week, after about a month or so, those blisters will heal and turn into calluses!. Don't shave those; pretty feet and pointe do not go well together!. You need to keep those or your feet will never get used to pointework and you'll constantly be bleeding!. That's another thing -- you might bleed!. I didn't the first time, but I wasn't en pointe for two hours!. Bleeding is not a big deal as long as you handle it immediately and properly!. If you let the blood sit on the shoe, the box will warp!. Clean the blood up as quickly as possible from the shoe, then take care of your foot!.

Always let the shoes dry out from sweat and blood!. I know this sounds gross, but you can suffer from athlete's foot and your box and shank will warp!. That's about $80 worth right down the drain!. Honestly, you want to keep your shoes out of your bag and unwrapped for at least an hour so they can dry out properly!.

Good luck and hope this helped! I remember how excited I was with my first pointe shoes, and I wish you the best of luck and have fun! Remember, you can always contact me with further questions!.?Www@QuestionHome@Com

wow thats pretty long for a first class! lol but good luck! you might get blisters but is you have toe pads and are wearing tights over them you should be okay!
The only thing that was really hard for me when i first started and i had to break mine in was it felt like my feet were on fire and it was hard to get the hang of en pointe but it takes time for the both of them!
So good luck and have fun! and oh yeah you did sew them right i don't know why she would want you to sew them to the bottoms!.!.!.werid but ive always been taught to sew them on the insides right by the seems!.!.!.but anyways :]]] have funWww@QuestionHome@Com

Congrats! Blisters are normal, you should tape your toes (not together!.!.!. just wrap it around your toe ) on whichever is prone to blisters!. it might take a class or two to figure out where you need the tape, but the tape will help for sure!. you also might need other stuff like jellys or lamb's wool!. Don't worry too much!.!.!. just remember to go on pointe through your big toe and work your hardest in class because it will pay off! Hope I helped-good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

OK this is how i was always told to sew ribbons or elastics!. if you fold down the heel of you shoe flat, you sew your ribbons where you shoe folds on the side or the shoe!. sew on the inside of the shoe!. i sew mine close to the top and sew the bottoms around in a square!. try not to go right through the shoe when you sew your ribbons cause you don't want to see you stitching!. hope that helps!. happy dancing! =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

wow congratulations!.!.!.!.!.you will LOVE it! okay you should talk to your teacher on where your ribbons should go or a fellow student who is already on pointe!. As for the blisters!.!.!.!.!.expect them but dont be surprised if you dont get any! Tell me how your class goes =]!.!.!.!.!.!.

Oh good luck! The first few classes move a little slow, but it is still very exciting!. Sew them on the inside(on the sides)!.

1st class!.!.!.!.ooo!.!.!.!.!.its fun!.!.!.!.exciting!.!.!.!.and it feels great with new pointes!. u wont get any blisters unless your like really good, but deffinetley not you 1st time, unless your shoes dont fit properly! =[
you might get a line on the bottom of ure foot since your foot is supposed to be "snug" in the shoe, but i dont think i got it right away, but when you do, some girls complain that it huts 2 walk, but it didnt hurt me!.!.!.
i cant really help you anymore!.!.!.unless u ask me like detailed questions!.!.!.!.so if this kinda helped!.!.!.feel free to send me a message! =]

Well, if your teacher said to sew them on the bottom, I would!. Maybe you could e-mail or call her tonight to double check!. (Tip: Burn the ends of your ribbons!. Sounds silly, but that prevents them from unraveling!. Just put the end in a flame until the end of the ribbon melts!.) For your first class, your teacher will probably get out the ballet bars and, most likely, you'll just work on breaking them in!. You do this by rolling up and down on your pointe shoes!. Your feet won't necessarily blister, but they will hurt!. Tonight, cut your toenails short!. That seemed to help me!. also, walk around in your pointe shoes tonight, and see wear they rub!. If they rub the back of your heel, put a band-aid on that tomorrow!. My shoes rub my pinkie toes, so I always put band-aids on those!. Have fun!! Pointe is a great experience!!
Hope this helps!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
