well i got my pointe shoes when i was 11 and i am 13 now!. at first you just have to get used to your new shoes!. do all of the excersizes that your ballet teacher told you to do!. (believe me they help) just to break them in!. once they are broken in and you are used to moving around in them you should be fine! i love doing pointe now!. let me know how everything turns out!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You sound very well prepared!. I believe the transition to pointe should be an easy on for you!. I did not have as much experience in demi as you did before beginning pointe and I enjoy it and feel pretty proficient at it!.

I know you will hear this a hundred times, but make sure your pointe shoes are well fitted!. Experiment with toe padding as well as elastic placement!. Make sure to keep your toe nails cut straight across and they should not be shorter or longer than the toe!. Because the satin on the bottom of the shoe starts to fray!. It is a good idea to cut if off and then "paint" the edges with glue or clear nail polish to keep it from fraying further!. Use a little bit of water (not to much or you could damage the shoe) to help you break it in!. Gently bend your shoes at the arch and in demi pointe to break them in!. I find it works best to do this after wearing them when they are still warm!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It shouldn't be too hard for you since you have taken dance for so long anyway!. Just make sure that you really stretch your feet out before doing it!. also make sure your technique is fairly good because if you have bad technique it could result in injury's!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
