Question: Are Pointe shoes and Ballet slippers basically the same thing!? If not, what's the difference!?
I'm trying to find ballet slippers that lace up for everyday wear, but the only thing that resembles what I'm looking for are pointe shoes!. If any of you have seen, like, Phantom of the Opera (the movie), I'm looking for like the shoes that the girls wear on stage!. I would prefer either black or dyeable ones!. Can anyone help me!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pointe shoes are harder canvas Ballet slippers with a 'block' on the end!. Unless you have trained in pointe work, or have been doing ballet for several years, make sure you don't go up on pointe!. I used to use soft canvas shoes with ribbons, that could be either pink or black, so you should be able to find some!. Try a dancing shop, like Bloch!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i dont know what the shoes you ar on about look like!!!!!

but i know that a pointe shoe is completly different and should only be worn if you ballet teacher says you can(if you have one)
1)pointe shoes are for standing on the top of you big toe basically and it has an box at the bottom to stand on and a shank (basicalyy a really hard sole, kind of like wood)to suport the dancer when she is on her pointe!.they are also useually made with satin and have elastics and ribbons to tie

2)ballet slippers are what you start of wearing in ballet they can have elastics or ribbons but not both at the same time!.
these shoes are alot softer and can easilly be bent the can be made with satin leather or canvas!!!these are what anyone can wear but you cant go on pointe in but can go on demi pointe(ball of foot)

3)demi pointe shoes it like a pointe shoe with out the shank you still have a box and ribbins and elastics but you dont go en pointe in them

i hoped this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure where you can find those kind of shoes in Phatom i think they are wearing pointe shoes , but after dancing for 15 years, i can definitely tell you that pointe shoes and ballet slippers are not the same thing!. pointe shoes have a hard toe, while ballet slippers are all soft!. both come in pretty much all colors, but typically white, pink, and black are the dominant ones!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well Pointe shoes are ballet shows with the flat toe you can go on your toes with and you lace them up!. Ballet, I'm not sure if they have lace up ones, and it depends on if your class or show wants you to have them!. You can always ask someone at your local dance studios or stores!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
