Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
no, you are not too old!. most people take 2-3 years to progress up to pointe!. If you work hard enough at it you can do it as fast as 1 year!. you will love it! good luck!
because of your dance experience you should do great!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's all about strength!. To dance pointe, you have to have complete control of your body and possess the ability to always be aware of your center!. Your jazz background may help a little bit, but ballet (pointe especially) is all about technique, and no respectable instructor would gamble someone life on a weak foundation!. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just letting you know if you dont have the commitment to stay with ballet for at least 5 years to learn your basics you'll never dance pointe, but then again who knows!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on what studio you go to and well you can do ballet!. Some might say you only have to do ballet for a year and then you can go on pointe!. If I was your teacher I would say minimum of 3 years!. Your not too old to start ballet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It will probably take you at least 4 to 5 years!.!.!. if you just started jazz a year ago too!.!.!. ballet is a lot more complicated and you have to have really strong feet for it too!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are not too old nom it might take you a bit longer though, It might take you 4 or 5 years!. If you are god at it then you could do it in 4!. Just stick it out!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would not say you go straight into pointe!. Take ballet classes for a couple years!. Get used to ballet and build up your ankles A LOT!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only jazz, and only one year!. That is a set back but if youyr determined and keep up th egood work!. it wont be too long before you are standing on your toes! (2-5 years)Www@QuestionHome@Com

it would take a while considering you don't have many years of formal dance training and no years of ballet!. some people train for over 5 years to get on pointeWww@QuestionHome@Com
