Question: How long do you do streaching before ballet practice!?

I do about 10-15 minutes, but it really depends on what your body needs and the class structure

Some people can start barre with little or no warmup and others need to warm up slower and longer!. I grew up with a girl who would stretch/warm up for at least 60 minutes before class!.

A class with a long barre will be easier to warm up in, if your teacher does a quicky barre and mostly center work you will need to warm up on your own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

5-10 minutes if i have the time, but that's plenty!. it's better to work hard with a full barre and do the real stretching before you come to the center because you're warmer!. because of this, you won't get hurt and you can get more out of itWww@QuestionHome@Com

I usually stretch for about 5 minutes just so i don't pull anything but barre should stretch you out for the most part because that is the whole point of it!. For any other class I would stretch for a good 15-20 minutes before!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you do a thorough properly structured barre, the stretching is in the class!. That's what plies are all about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
