pointe is an advanced form of ballet technique and you need special shoes to do it called "pointe shoes"!. they are different in structure than regular ballet shoes which are called flats or soft shoes!. the pointe shoes have a hard tip so you can stand on your tippie-toes and they provide much more support than regular flats!. never try pointe on your own - have a ballet teacher around to help you!.!.!.!.that is if they think you're even ready to be en pointe!. it is definitely not something you do for fun as it kinda ruins your feet (looking at my deformed feet sadly) and it can be fast or slow!. traditionally, it goes with classical music, but some dance companies are changing so that their ballet dancers dance to hip-hop music, pop, rock, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

pointe is ballet!. it is a ballet class in pointe shoes!. there are some exercises that you do that you wouldnt do in a regular ballet class due to the different types of shoes!. you have to be strong in ballet before you go on pointe because you could risk injury!. i take 2 pointe classes a week ballet 6 days a week!. but then i have rehearsal in pointe shoes about every night!. pointe shoe are very different from ballet shoes because they are much harder in order for you to 'stand on your toes'!. the box (the part that you stand on your toes on) is made out of hardened glue and fabric and there is a hard lining of the shoe that provides support to the dancer's foot!. wow ok i hope that helped!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I just wanna say I can't stand it when people spell dance terms wrong!.!.!.it's pointe!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pointe is what you can try to learn after a lot fo training and development of your ballet technique, and yes, it appears liek youre on your toes!. There is acxtually whats called "the box" in pointe shoes, which is made of layers of canvas, satin, and glue (no wood, cause soemone here will say its wood, and it isnt), which helps to support the foot!.

I've danced for 22 years and I love pointe, but you do need s trong ballet basis first!. It can be done to many kinds of music, as can "regular" ballet, and the longer you dance, the more classes a week you should be investing in!. The shoes are very different, there si no shank or box in a flat shoe, so you can't go up on them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
