Ok, I ballroom dance, and I don't see either as more prestigous!. also Universities don't see it that way either, they see it that you Salsa dance and if you are serious and show you really enjoy it, it doesn't make a difference of what kind of dance it is!. It takes a lot of determination and Universities like that, so you should be set!.
I hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's just that ballroom tends to come off as more "cultured" or whatever than salsa, because when you think about it, salsa is street latin, which is usually really sexy and steamy, whereas ballroom is all about manners!. But I don't think it would really matter which one you put on a uni application, I think they'd probably just be happy that you had an extra-curricular activity of any sort!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ballroom does have its origins in the upper classes of England, but I don't see how that has much to do with today, and universities aren't likely to care!.
I dance ballroom and enjoy it, but class distinctions and such seem an odd way to decide on what you like!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
