First and formost, you are every bit a lady because I would have knocked my teacher out!. I had a rhythmic coach tell me that when I was 11 years old and it was years before I could even start getting over it!. No dance teacher has any right to tell you that!.

That said, I'm an inch taller than you, maybe 6 pounds lighter, and I'm 25!. We're tall, as my sister, thankfully, pointed out, "You can't be five foot a million and weigh a hundred and twenty pounds"!. Normal BMI for a girl our height is between 131 and 151!. I'm sure as a dancer you have great muscle tone and a nice figure, and even if it isn't Pamela Anderson-esque, screw it!. I'm sure you're beautiful the way you are!.
It sounds like you already make a lot of healthy choices with your food, and your exercising, in addition to dance, more than enough!. Don't worry about the partnering, you know its gonna be some weasely 4 foot tall guy anyway!. Stick with what you're doing, and if your stomach particularly bothers you, you may want to switch something up and do pilates for a bit!. Its really none of your teachers business because youre being healthy!. I am so glad to hear you dn't want to get in trouble with this, because its a hell of a road to get yourself back up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have to say, that is a lot of weight for a ballerina!. Just being honest!.
Don't diet, it never works!.
All you have to do to lose weight is make sure you burn off more calories then you consume!. So either get more active every day or cut back your portions everyday (or both)!. Simple dimple!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

try this book called the diet for dancers it's really good!.
http://www!.amazon!.com/Diet-Dancers-Compl!.!.!.
most of your weight is probably muscle and not everybody can be one of those skinny minis!Www@QuestionHome@Com

okay, elizabeth j, your wrong!. its not alot of weight for a "ballerina"!. you dont have to be 5'2" and weigh eighty pounds to be a ballet dancer!. you dont HAVE to lose any weight!. if you WANT to lose weight, you should focus on not depriving yourself of fastfoods and snacks first and foremost!. You should eat 3-4 400 calorie meals a day with 1-2 150 calorie snacks!. i know it seems like a lot but really with the excercise you do, its not!. while your doing all that excercise, at the end add a couple hundred varied types of crunches to help tighten your problem area, your stomach, the most!. This should help your weight AND stomach!! also!.!.!. try and eat vegatables with more than one benefit (broccoli, spinach) to them more often than things like carrots and lettuce which only benifit 1 thing!. HOPE THIS HELPS (=Www@QuestionHome@Com

OK, the worst thing us dancers can do, is go on a major freak diet!. We need a very well balanced diet so don't go cutting things out of what you eat!. Cut DOWN on the most fattening things and do exercises that will focus on your stomach, sit ups are amazing at this!
But you have to take i to account that you may not be a skinny person and you may of been built to have curves! Just tone up as much as you can!.
Don't comfort eat or just eat when you are stressed!. Don't snack in between meals either and don't have a lot of salt!.
Hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hello!. Again!. :) Your questions keep popping up and they interest me because it appears I have so much in common with you!.

Just a few words that may or may not help very much!.!.!.and i might be repeating some of this from my answer to one of your last questions, so just disregard it if that's the case!.

Ballet, and any other physical activity, is actually much easier the less weight you're carrying!. I lost a lot of weight this past year and basically had to relearn everything--pirouettes felt different, because you have to learn how to redistribute your weight; pointe was easier, because less weight was being borne by my toes (and my shoes lasted longer); even simple things like arabesques and grande battenments were different!. But all easier!. That said, I think everyone's body tends to center at a certain weight, and it's hard to lose more after that because you just aren't built that way!. Your weight is healthy for your height!. I was worried about partnering, too, until I did it and found out that I was much lighter than I had anticipated (5'6", 115 lbs)!. The guys are stronger than you think!. Don't worry about that!.

Just be safe and eat enough to stay focused/energetic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
