First, put medical tape (or masking tape or duct tape - whatever you prefer) around the toes that get blistered!. This is actually the best help!.

You don't want to wear a -lot- of padding, because you want to build callouses on the toes, and too much padding makes your toes squished in the box, which is very uncomfortable!.

There are a number of kinds of padding you can wear!. I have used lamb's wool pads, paper towel, cut-off pantyhose, gel toe spacers, Bunheads' Big Tip, and Ouch Pouches!. There are also pads made completely of gel!.

Experiment with what works best for you!. Try to use the least amount of padding necessary!. I recommend paper towels, as they are cheap, absorb sweat, and you can just throw them away after use!.

Go to http://www!.discountdance!.com - click "shoes" and then "pointe shoe accessories!." You'll see a variety of padding options there!. I recommend the Bunheads products!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ask your teacher!. If you had permission to be en pointe and were taking classes, your teacher and the people who fit your shoes would have given you all the info you need!. Never go en pointe without permission and supervision from your teacher!

If, for some reason, your teacher has neglected to inform you about pointe but has still put you on, start with Ouch Pouches and tape any blisters that start to form with water-proof medical tape!. When your feet toughen up a bit, move to tape and paper towels!. Then just use tape!. Believe me, you can balance better and know where the floor is better the less padding you have!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Blister busters! They're those gel pieces you get to put in your heels to stop you getting blisters!. You can cut them to size to fit in your pointe shoes, especially on top of your toes!. I also use those gel tubes over my second and fourth toes, as that's where it really rubs for me!.

ouch pouches
gel pads
baby powder
i tape my toes, that really works
i already have a broken toe due to pointe!.
take your shoe and put it in an up position and sprinkle some baby powder in it and tap your pointe shoe on the ground so it can spread on the bottom sole!.
-ouch pouches work for me very well!. i have to wear 2 diffrent sizes though!.
if you want more comfort i suggest wearing to pads on a foot, thats what i do for my left foot!.
good luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
