Question: Why do guys think it is weird to ballroom dance!?
Hello everyone,

I just had a question and I hope someone can help me!. Why is it so hard to find a guy partner in ballroom dancing!? I just started lessons with a new teacher and because I Left the other teachers I sort of lost my partner, I am just confused as to why some guys think that in order to dance they have to be "gay" or a sissy (sorry if anyone found that offenceive) I mean is it all guys or is it just the guys that I know!?

So these are my questions:
1) Do all guys feel the same way about ballroom!?
2) Dose it have to alot with age
3) If you are a guy what do you think about ballroom dancing (please be honest)

**also**
If you are age16-18 and a guy who is or wants to learn to be a ballroom dancer and you live in or near Oswego NY
please e-mail me because I am looking for a new partner!!

So if you can help me with my questions that would be great

Hey!

I REALLY sympathize with you, I know how frustrating it is trying to find a dance partner when there just arent enough guys around :o(

I dont think all guys feel the same way about ballroom, there are a few guys at my studio who take ballroom comps REALLY seriously, like how most guys take football and basketball so seriously!.

I think when guys are like 13 or 14 they are embarassed about it because I think they are in their 'awkward' stage of life but ive found that as they get older they treat it as any other sport

Can I just offer some advice!?
Dont just look for partners your own age, I did that for a while and there just werent any!!! Maybe try and look for someone a little bit older, or maybe someone a little bit younger!?

After AGES of searching I found my dance partner, he is older than me!. Because of his age we are unable to compete in youth but we compete in adult/amatuer!.

BEST of luck!!! I honestly know how frustrating it is finding a partner!.!.!.!.!. dont give up!!!!! :o)Www@QuestionHome@Com

no not all guy are like that its just they dont know how and that they dont want to take the time to learn it too so they make up an excuse

no it not about age

i think ballroom dancing is cool been doing it for 2 yearsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Dancing isn't for sissies!. Some guys are just stupid and think that they have to act tough!. It isn't easy finding the right dance partner but if you find one it is worth the search!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1) No
2) not really it more of a maturity thing and a perspective
3)Dancing can be a very relaxing but entergetic activity, also dancing is good for flexiblityWww@QuestionHome@Com

1!. No
2!. Some parts of it
3!. I am not a guy
I think some of it would be because of how old this style of dancing is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1) No!. I started ballroom when I was a freshman in high school!.
2) Yes, it does have a lot to do with age!. Well, more with maturity than age!. Most people at "that age" are not very comfortable outside of their "normal lives" and are afraid to try something they see as outside of the mainstream (or at least outside the mainstream for their group of peers/friends)!.
3) I love it (but I'm probably a little biased)!.

Things for guys to think about:
1!. There have been football players who have taken ballet to improve their ballence and footwork!.
2!. Emmit Smith is no sissy!
3!. It's good exercise!.
4!. It's a great way to meet girls!. I've gotten close to several beautiful women (including 1!. my wife and 2!. a girl who's cousin was Miss Universe that I dated) specifically because I could dance!.
5!. There's no costumes like in Dancing With The Stars!.

You might try to get guys to try something like swing dancing as a prelude into ballroom!. It's a lot of fun and may appeal more to the younger guys!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
