Question: Do men and women use the same dance techniques and moves in ballet!?

Hi, great question, and I'm happy to help!.

Obviously, the foundational principles and techniques -- how not to become overbuilt, which muscles to train, how to do this and this step properly without hurting oneself, etc -- are the same between men and women!. Essentially the technique is the mostly the same between men and women!.

It really is amazing, though, the huge difference there is between methods -- especially in this aspect!. I'll talk about two methods of classical ballet today: Royal and Vaganova, since they're the ones I was taught foundationally!.

The Royal ballet does not have many steps that are different as Vaganova, other than variations on steps and turns!. For example, men are usually expected to jump higher than women!. They are also expected to be able to turn better (although we both know that's not nessecarily true at all ;-])!. However, these are not huge differences and do apply to many of the methods of ballet!. And obviously, there are some steps that women just don't do -- such as tour de force (traditionally)!.

Vaganova, however, has many differences between male and female steps!. Usually, Vaganova has many unusual and uncomfortable, to be honest, that men traditionally alone perform!. That's not to say that women don't do them at all -- obviously choreographers can do whatever they want -- but traditinally men only do these steps!.

Hope I helped!.?Www@QuestionHome@Com

well the answer to that would be yes and no!
all menand women learn the basic moves, like pliƩs, and how to be graceful!. In the beginning boys and girls learn pretty much the same moves, like the grand battements, tendus, and other moves like that!. The only real difference is when the girls do graceful runs across the room, boys do marches!.

Of course as they get older, the boys learn stregth, jumps, how to hold a women, etc!.
So then it is quite a lot different,

But ballet is about poise and grace!. And although men and wonen hold themselves differently, it is very much the same for both genders!

Hope this make sense!Www@QuestionHome@Com

deff not dancers are so diff when it comes to men and women for one women are better!. and men can lift better and they dont go on point they practice giving the girl all the attention in the world and the girl takes all the attention!. girls learn how to show off and boys learn how to show off the girls in other wordsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Basic technique is pretty much the same, but men are later trained to do bigger, higher jumps than women, while women are trained to perform smaller footwork on pointe!.

also, women typically do fouettes while men do a la seconde turns!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
