Question: Im 18 and doing jazz and tap!.!.!.!.!.theres a problem!?
I just turned 18 and i moved to a new dance place (studio) and the dancers are all hardcore and stuff!. back in my old place, it was all fun and i was pretty advanced!. When i got to the new place, the 14 year old girls could do better technical work than me
i feel like such a fool and now i think i suck at dancing!. I mean, i like expressing dancing, and although i know technique is important, i tend to focus on emotion and feeling (like in lyrical)
am i too old!? or should i try to lift my game!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Each studio has a different course of study!. Some are more into technique, others into expression!. Don't worry about what the other dancers think!. Sometimes it is a big adjustment going from one studio to another!. Talk to your teacher about your concerns!. If she or he put you in the advanced class, they know you can catch on easily!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Share you feelings with your teacher!. Technique is important, but the only concern you need have is if you have real talent!. Without it, you can have a life time of lessons and still suck!. Emotion when you dance is a true Godsend!. I felt that way particularly in ballet!. also, dancing just for fun is good!. You need to determine how important it is to you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your not to old! I just went through the same thing but i got really used to it!. I actually love how they do it here now! Try to go with it, lift your game status!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are not too old!. keep on dancing because if you don't, you'll regret it when you are very old, just as I do!.

Happy dancing !!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
