Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
the difference between modern and classical ballet is that modern is more abstract, meaning weird angles and arm movements, classical ballet is more about technique and showmanship, modern you can just be free, free yourself by doing movements that impulse you!. I myself prefer modern!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ballet id grace full elegant and floaty

but modern is a lot more fatser less elegant and less strick i gess

i think ballet is better but its not for everyone at my school the description of modern is

"modern dance transpires from ballet!. shoes were taken off, movement became freer and music was used from the current day"

ballet is about graceful movements of the body
modern is about the natural angles and movements of the body
i prefer ballet better =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

While modern dance is all about the nailing the moves,
Ballet is all about the passion and confidence put into them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes I agree with dani and to add to that modern was created as a rebellion to ballet, so that's why they are so different from each other!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
