Question: I'm dying to do ballet but until my mum finds a school i want to practise at home-any tips!?
I done ballet when i was 3 but stopped when i was 8!. I wanna start again but havnt found a school yet so i wanna practise at home any ideas!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, cos you have done it before, I am assuming you know the 5 basic positions!? Practice those again and try and get your ballet posture back!. Stretch and try and become more supple again and see if you still have balance!. Those are the key basics of ballet so make sure you can do them well! Good luck !Www@QuestionHome@Com

im a dancer soo practice doing pirottes, splits on the floor!.!. if u want to get really really flexible, do oversplits: put one foot on an elevated place and put the other one on the floor and stay there for like a minute and then do the other leg!. Flexibility is important in ballet! Practice ur posture, try walking around with ur shoulders back and head up!. And practice the 5 basic positions!

also, get yourself a pair of ballet shoes (buy a size bigger - for some reason they're made small)!. You can get them on eBay cheap!. A leotard would help too!.

stretch (splits, stradle) as much as you can and do some conditioning (such as crunches)!. You might want to try some simple plie and tondue combinations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Make sure you have music for ballet!. Just practice what you know or remember!. I do ballet, and practice makes perfect!. Put you ballet outfit on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't start doing actual ballet steps otuside of class because you don't want to develop bad habits that your teacher has to cerrect when you start!. You CAN stretch (after warming up) to get a bit of a head start, and you can watch videos of ballet steps to try and learn the names of them!. Just don't try to teach yourself!. Having a teacher there is very improtant!Www@QuestionHome@Com
