Question: Dancers and Cheerleaders!?
After doing a routine/performance does it seem that the performance is a blur to you!? also, does the routine become automatic (do not need to think about doing it) after a while!? How mental is cheerleading/dance and in what regards!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

the actual performance is like a blur but that's just me!. the routine does become something called muscle memory where even if your mind blanks out your body still knows what to do and how to move!. and cheer/dance is very mental because the way you think affects the way you dance stunt and tumble!. your attitude can make or break the team!. that is why so many teams say once you get on the mat all your issues and problems need to be dropped even if it is with teammates because you being mad or upset can effect the team!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I am a cheerleader and a dancer and after I do a performance, it's no really a blur, but more like "I can't figure out that part unless I do it" kind of thing, but it does just sometimes happen automatically!. Mostly once you get a routine in dance or cheerleading, it is very mental, becuase you may think you don't know it anymore, but once you do it, you have it perfectly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you practice enough, you will get it down to where it is engraved into your memory, but this can make it harder in some respects!!! You have to pay even more attention, because you could be neglecting or not doing a step fully enough!. Dance and Cheer are bothe VERY mental!. If you don't connect with the dance mentally, it will read on your face as you preform!. It is hard to put it in words, but it looks so much more powerful if you put all of your physical and mental energy into a preformance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
